  Maybe I'm spoiled by Thai restaurant in big cities. This was good enough to enjoy, but just lacked the vibrant taut flavors I'm used to. The Pad Thai had some of the right flavors, but not the artful blend of tangy and bitter, followed by a gentle afterburn of spice, that makes this dish so enjoyable. The bamboo shoots were fresh, and the chopped peanuts were just the right size, so the textures of the dish were just right, but overall the flavor was just a bit off. The green curry with coconut milk was probably the best dish, fresh and tasty. The sticky rice had some mechanical failure, and was a congealed blob. Maybe it's just not designed for takeout. It was still ok to eat, but didn't have that glutinous chewy deliciousness I like.

  The food is usually good, but the service is reliably terrible. Recently, I ordered some food to go. When I showed up I found out they had forgotten to cook my food. After being told it would only take "5 minutes" I had to sit and wait for 20 minutes, and was offered no discount for their mistake. Disappointing.

  Owner was knowledgeable in his dishes and ingredients, even though he was closing when I got there he let me in and was happy to serve.

  Fantastic restaurant, amazing food, and the friendliest staff I've ever experienced. I read other reviews of the owner being a fantastic host and he definitely lived up to his reputation. Right away, I could tell that he genuinely cares about his customers and their experience. He provided his recommendations, but also offered to let him pick our dishes (he gave us the freedom to choose which types of dishes and which meats). What came to our table were well portioned and incredibly flavourful dishes. We had three main dishes and two appetizers for a party of four, and we all left full and fully satisfied. They pride themselves on their authenticity and it was very well shown in the freshness of their food. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic meal and even better experience.
